About us
Garland Grove Arabians was created by mother and daughter, Denise Niass and Kahla Hall and joined by their husbands, Gary Niass and Michael Hall.
Denise has been involved with horses for over 40years starting out in riding camps.
In her 20s Denise was riding Arabians and doing up to 80k Endurance rides and training daily.
In 1989 Denise and her former partner created a stud by the name of Murland Park Arabians in the Hawkesbury.
With the purchase of Stilton Farm Silver Shaklan the stud was well under way.Silver sired many beautiful horses for Murland Park.
In 1994 Denise laid eyes on a beautiful Purebred Arabian Stallion, Pembac Park Keegan at the Australian Arabian Championships where he was awarded TOP 10. Not long after Keegan was advertised for sale and soon after he was calling Murland Park Home .
Keegan had amazing movement, a beautiful body. a great length of neck and the sweetest nature. He was a wonderful saddle horse even with youth riders, Keegan was our pride and joy. he has sired many beautiful foals which are seen all over the globe and in all disciplines.
In 1998 we travelled to Carcoar show to look at a beautiful show pony for Kahla. Doogie came home with us that day.
Doogalbee Dazler was purchased for Kahla at the age of 7 so she could begin competitive show riding.
Doogie was a stunning liver chestnut arabian derivitive who fastly became known to the show industries in not only the youth but open competitors also.
Doogie was every childs dream pony and he took Kahla to many wins including 2 times Australian Champion, multiple East Coast Champion, multiple National Champion, numerous State Champions and Royal wins.
2 of Kahlas most proudest moments were in 2002 when she made the finalist for baskhan sash, this was the first year a youth had made it up against the adults.
also in 2000 Kahla competed in her rider class at sydney royal on Doogie. there were 101 riders in this event. Kahla and Doogie were called in first in all the heats and was awarded 5th place. She was told by the judge if she didnt miss a circle at the end (wrong workout) she would have won the class
In 2002 Kahla moved up to a bigger horse, one bred by ourselves at Murland Park. This was a huge step as she went from a 14.1 1/2 galloway to a 16h Purebred arabian gelding.
Kahla's new show horse was Murland Park MUZZARR.
Muzza was extremely well know for his movement, height and attitude and was never beaten in a best trot class and also won $1000 at the first liberty event at the australian champioships. Muzza was one of a kind.
Kahla rode Muzza at the 2003 East Coast Arabian championships bringing home broad sashes in not only youth but in the open classes also.
In 2004 Denise and her partner at the time seperated which meant the stud dispersed, only taking Muzza and his only full sister who was later sold.
Kahla contunued to grow with Muzza over 2years with hopes to get back to the East Coast and Australianships however due to study Muzza was not getting to the competitions.
Muzza was leased to a dear friend in 2006 and shortly after we lost our beautiful big boy to colic. The loss of our beautiful boy was one we will truly never get over. He left such an impact on us and left so many memories.
After a 9 year break we decided to re enter the show scene, with the purchase of a stunning high percentage partbred arabian.
Shatana Angelina Jullye was the first addition to Garland Grove arabians.
We are extremely proud of this filly and where she is headed. she is the beginning to a new future and we cannont wait to see what the future holds for her
